The Sports Gutter’s Official Fantasy Football Mock Draft Guide
Fantasy football mock drafts are an important part of preparing for your actual fantasy football draft. Here are some tips for how to get the most out of your fantasy football mock draft.
Start things off by making fun of everyone for having nothing better to do than a pretend draft for a pretend football team.
Mock drafts are all about asserting dominance and creating chaos. That’s why I like to kick things off by opening up the chat with some comments about how pathetic it is that these people are actually spending their time on this earth doing a pretend draft for their pretend football teams. This usually gets a few people riled up, which is exactly what we want.
Take all of the allotted time to make your picks.
A lot of people like to make their mock draft picks really fast because this whole thing is pointless and people don’t want to waste too much time on this. And because of that, I purposely take as much time as I possibly can. Dominance. Chaos.
Draft a tight end with your first 6 picks.
Since tight end is the most coveted position, I like to stock up on all the best tight ends early just to ruin the draft for everyone else.
Then draft a quarterback with your remaining picks.
After I ransack all of the tight ends and singlehandedly destroy the realism of the draft, I load up on quarterbacks because what do I care? I don’t have any connection to my team once this mock draft is over, so it doesn’t matter to me.
After the draft is over, post the draft results to all of your social media accounts.
And caption it with something like “Just finished my mock fantasy draft…I might have gone a little overboard on tight ends (lol) anyone want to trade?”
