5 Quarterbacks Who Could Have Big Seasons in 2023

NFL

Let’s face it: you just can’t win in the National Football League (NFL) without a great quarterback or a really good quarterback or a pretty good quarterback. Here are 5 quarterbacks who I think could have big seasons this year.

1) Patrick Mahomes

Last season, Patrick Mahomes had a really good year and he put up some big time stats and led his team to a Super Bowl. A lot of people (me included) think he will have a really good season this year, and I tend to agree with those people who think that (including me).

2) Josh Allen

When I think of Josh Allen a few things come to mind: strong arm, speed, Buffalo Bills, buffalo wings, hot sauce, licking hot sauce off of my fingers instead of using napkins while my wife and several other dance moms yell at me during our daughter’s dance recital and then everyone asking my wife (days later, and in one case, weeks later) why her husband (me) ate “two dozen buffalo wings” (in reality, it was only a dozen and a half wings) during a children’s dance recital, accuracy, competitor, Stefon Diggs, touchdowns.

3) Jalen Hurts

If you dig into the numbers and look at Jalen Hurts’ numbers over the years, you will see that his numbers have gotten better each season. If you extrapolate those numbers out for another season, and you assume that his numbers will continue to trend in the same direction, then you have to assume (there’s that word again) that he will have a big season because his numbers are going to be so good. But, you know what they say about assumptions: they make an—oh wait. I should have said assume.

4) Joe Burrow

My friend Norm (a fellow “dance dad” and a loyal and trustworthy friend who has always had my back every single time I have been asked to leave our daughters’ dance recitals for refusing to use napkins and insisting on licking my fingers during the show) told me that, last season, Joe Burrow threw for 4,475 yards and 35 touchdowns. The year before that, Norm tells me, he threw for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns. Norm likes Burrow this year, and after everything Norm has done for me over the years, I will back him ‘til the day I die.

5) Justin Herbert

Sometimes you just get a “feeling” about a kid, and I have a “feeling” about this kid Justin Herbert. He plays quarterback for the Chargers.
